Eefke Linssen has been Sales Manager at TICA for a few months now. Her career started in the hospitality sector, where she had her own hospitality business and later was Event Manager in a hotel. This way, she has always had one foot in hospitality and the other in sales and management. At TICA, Eefke gets the opportunity to combine her experience and passion for customer-focused work with the inspiring and entrepreneurial nature of the organisation.

How do you experience your first months at TICA?

The first few months at TICA have been hugely inspiring. What struck me immediately was the entrepreneurial mentality of the team and the exhibitors. There is a culture here where everyone sees and seizes opportunities, which perfectly matches my own ambition to further professionalise the sales team. The dynamic environment and innovative offerings also make TICA a place where creativity and keen insight go hand in hand.

Do you already have a project you are proud of?

Yes, definitely! The opening of TICA Ede as well as the Pop-up Store in the Belgian Trademart (where we also recently opened TICA Brussels) are great projects I have already had the pleasure of working on. TICA Concept Store is also going well. What makes it extra nice is the fine cooperation with the managers; we respond well to each other. That cooperation and the fast switching within the team make these projects inspiring to work on.

What opportunities do you see for the existing TICA branches?

One of the main goals is to ensure that we always remain relevant and inspiring to TICA members. This requires a keen eye for the needs of our TICA members and a proactive approach to responding to them.

And what about the new branches?

At TICA Ede and TICA Brussels, it is important that we present the TICA concept in a consistent and inspiring way. We want to retain our unique retail formula, in which we see exhibitors as partners. The challenge is to do this equally well everywhere, while safeguarding TICA’s core values – inspiring, empathetic and entrepreneurial. Creating an innovative retail image that continues to attract TICA members is crucial here.

TICA Projects

The interior design industry has seen a major transformation in recent years. The demand – from project organisers, developers and interior stylists – for custom-made furnishings has increased strongly. TICA Projects, located upstairs in Aalsmeer, responds to this. Among other things, this department offers customised solutions for furnishing hotels, restaurants, offices or other commercial projects.

About TICA Projects

With TICA Projects, how do you continue to respond to the changing demand in the interior design industry?

By focusing on customisation and unique, exclusive products. We notice that the demand for personalised interiors continues to grow, and we respond to this by fully customising interiors and supporting customers every step of the furnishing process. This keeps us relevant and allows us to respond quickly to new trends and preferences in the market.

Where is your focus for the coming year?

On optimising cooperation with our exhibitors. We want to help them present their products in the best possible way, providing the right support, such as marketing and sales analysis. My goal as Sales Manager is to remain approachable for our exhibitors and ensure that the threshold remains low. I strongly believe in personal contact and offering tailor-made solutions. If we listen carefully to their needs and challenges, we can grow together. Their success is our success.

How would you like to further professionalise the Sales team?

By keeping short lines of communication and ensuring that we are always approachable. This means that we have a constant eye for trends and hype products, but also for the wishes of the TICA member. It’s not just about sales, but about offering a complete experience, from styling and booth presentation to post-purchase service.

What would you like to achieve for TICA in the long term?

That TICA continues to innovate and respond to market needs. I see many opportunities to attract new exhibitors and strengthen our cooperation with existing exhibitors. In five years’ time, I hope TICA will still be a leading player within the interior design industry, with a diverse and up-to-date offering that perfectly meets the needs of different target groups.

What is ‘Typical TICA’ for you?

The speed of change. As in the retail sector, you have to be flexible here and be able to react quickly to changes. Whether it’s a new trend or an adjustment in the offering; we are always on the move. That’s what I find special about TICA – we never stand still and we do it together with our entire team.
