Would you like to introduce yourself?

I am Remco Creyf and proud father of three beautiful children. Together with my wife Rosemary, I have a 1.5-year-old son, a 7-year-old daughter and, from a previous relationship, a 21-year-old son. Sports are truly my passion. As a little boy, I always looked for physical challenges and gym was my favourite subject at school. From fitness, dancing and Taekwondo to playing football and stomping through puddles offroad while running; I do it all!

What might TICA members know you from?

I have been working for TICA at team House Your Brand for 3.5 years. The pandemic brought me here because I could no longer work as a massage therapist. Now I run my own practice in Wilnis, but I haven’t let go of TICA yet (and vice versa haha). Team House Your Brand takes care of exhibitors: from unpacking products to complete care of a brand. The work is quite diverse. Our day starts with putting back items put on the ‘even-not-carts’ by TICA members and straightening stands. After that, it’s a surprise what and how much comes in. Unpacking, pricing, clearing and sometimes moving stands are part of the daily work. We are also the point of contact for TICA members and are happy to help them.

Sports are the common thread in your life, correct?

That’s right! I used to play football, but eventually chose Taekwondo. Unfortunately, I had to stop after my fourth Dan exam because of an injury. Now I can regularly be found in the gym, not only for myself, but also to make others sweat during a HIIT class. I like running off-road, like trail runs or obstacle runs, preferably even the marathon version. With three sporty children doing ballet, gymnastics and athletics, as a father I also have to keep fit.

What do you like most about your job at TICA?

No doubt the varied work within team House Your Brands. The contact with TICA members and exhibitors also adds to the job satisfaction. And not forgetting the fine team, where we really give something for each other.

What are your favourite brands and exhibitors at TICA?

My favourite brands within TICA are Gert Snel because of the unique items, Broste and Rustik Lys for which I do a lot myself, and BSIK. Not only the products, but also the people behind these brands make it special. The Atrium and OC World also definitely deserve attention.

How is the mutual atmosphere within the team?

Team House Your Brands is a really close-knit team. Despite being busy, we have a good time and undertake fun things outside working hours, from Mudmasters or a bite to eat to a weekend away.

Spring is just around the corner! What are you most looking forward to?

Oh, spring! I am eagerly awaiting it. Seeing the sun rise as I cycle to TICA, the birds singing and the world becoming greener and more colourful. The start of sporting events and the transition from dark to light. Gaining new energy, wonderful!

You are a real outdoors person aren’t you?

Definitely. Through all weathers, I cycle to TICA, even in the cold still in shorts. I prefer to be in the woods and enjoy the smell of conifers and flowers. My runs through the polder and along the water are also lovely. The garden is a great place to unwind, where I grow my own herbs, vegetables and fruits and sometimes stand barefoot in the grass.

What is ‘Typically TICA’ for you?

Typical TICA is the constant search for great new brands, especially visible on the Atrium and OC World. This is where smaller and start-up entrepreneurs get a chance to showcase themselves.
