Last year we started the transformation of the existing Belgian cash & carry into a fully-fledged TICA branch in Brussels. An inspiring process in which a lot of work is being done. What is the current situation at TICA Brussels?

TICA Brussels is starting to take shape! Since the official takeover, the branch has always been open for TICA members. At the beginning of January, the first shop-in-shops were moved internally and prepared for spring and Easter. This is the ideal time to plan a purchasing day at this branch and get your range or project ready for spring or Easter.

In the meantime, the new checkout system is up and running, we are working on floor repairs and further decorating the Atrium around the entrance and checkout. In any case, the coffee is ready; the brand new coffee machine at the &GO is already running at full speed!

You have a new position within TICA. What does this entail?

My role is to keep everything at TICA Brussels running smoothly operationally. I lead the project teams, make adjustments where necessary and look ahead to anticipate challenges coming our way. Think of improvements in processes or unexpected adjustments that are needed.

Most important to me, is creating a positive atmosphere. Not only for our exhibitors and members, but also for our colleagues in Brussels. That energy and commitment are at the heart of the ‘TICA feeling’: entrepreneurial, empathetic and inspiring.

What’s on your schedule for the upcoming period?

Our main goal is to make Brussels a fully-fledged TICA branch: sleek, neat and, above all, a nice place for everyone who works or purchases there. It must become an environment where you are surprised by the atmosphere and the range of products on offer every time you visit.

We also make sure that Brussels is fully integrated with our other branches, with the same systems and procedures. Last month, for instance, the well-known TICA system was successfully introduced. And of course we are looking at the formation: what do we need and what needs to be added to make it all possible?

In short: a busy but enormously fun time in which we are working very hard to create an inspiring TICA branch that everyone can be proud of.
