In 2022, the founder of The Botanical Candle discovered the world of candle making and decided to make her own unique candles. Exploring the market, she noticed big differences in quality: candles that burn unevenly, are smelly, or contain harmful substances. She decided to make organic candles and found the solution in rapeseed wax.

In her workshop and showroom, ‘The Candle Bakery’ in Mijdrecht, she creates stylish scented candles in printed pots, matching the seasons. These plant-based candles are completely non-toxic. By using European products, including rapeseed wax from small-scale farms, wicks, jars and natural fragrance oils, the production remains sustainable and eco-friendly.

It recently introduced a refill system, where customers can reuse empty jars by inserting new candles. This promotes recycling and offers an economical way to switch fragrances. Each candle is handmade with care and attention, sometimes held up to 15 times before it goes to the customer.
