At TICA, everything revolves around inspiring, discovering, and entrepreneurship. Every day, thousands of retailers, interior professionals, stylists, and hospitality entrepreneurs visit our locations, looking for products that surprise their customers and grow their business.
With locations in the Netherlands and Belgium and a range that is constantly in motion, TICA is among the most inspiring purchasing platforms in Europe. It is precisely this dynamism that requires a strong vision for assortment, categories, and trends.
That’s why we are looking for a Category Manager who is responsible for our assortment strategy. You set the frameworks for what is available at TICA and ensure that the range remains relevant, broad, and innovative. So that every TICA member finds more, combines more, and buys more per visit.
This is a new role within TICA. You will build the position from the ground up and get the space to shape the workflow yourself.
How TICA works
TICA operates as a marketplace. Exhibitors (brands and suppliers) rent a stand from us and manage their own stock. That stock is therefore never ours. As Category Manager, you manage the offering through the frameworks for who we admit, and through advice and agreements with exhibitors regarding assortment, price, and innovation.
You are responsible for the assortment strategy across all locations. Your core mission: a relevant and innovative range with sufficient breadth in categories, styles, and price points, so that revenue per m² and the average transaction value increase. You support your choices with sales and revenue data, not gut feeling.

You combine commercial insight with strong analytical skills. You think from the buyer’s perspective, have a feel for trends and seasons, and dare to make choices based on data.
In addition, you have:
You report to the Director of Retail & Experience and work from our location in Aalsmeer. You can be found regularly at all locations. You work closely with the Visual Merchandising Manager, also a new role: you are responsible for the assortment strategy, while VM determines how it looks on the floor. Additionally, you collaborate a lot with Sales, Marketing, and the branches.
