A harmony between inside and outside, natural materials, and a sense of tranquility; that was interior designer Simone van Loon’s vision when she began furnishing a high-end home in Bodegraven. The result caught the attention of the renowned interior magazine The Art of Living, which published the project. Simone used items from TICA Projects for this special design.
When Simone started her company De Kamer van 5 in 2010, she had one clear goal: helping people create an atmosphere that suits them. She noticed that many people find it challenging to create a personal and cozy space. For her, it’s the ultimate challenge to solve that puzzle and create an interior where someone truly feels at home.
Her projects range from healthcare facilities and hospitality venues to high-end homes. “I take on basically anything where people have questions about interior design or styling. Big or small, each project requires its own atmosphere and feeling.”
The project in Bodegraven was a special opportunity for Simone to express her style. “The house is located in a beautiful, green environment,” she explains. “I wanted to extend that feeling of nature indoors. A natural flow from outside to inside, with warm tones, organic shapes, and materials that radiate tranquility.”
Her passion for the profession and eye for detail didn’t go unnoticed. The Art of Living approached her to publish the Bodegraven project. “That’s obviously a wonderful compliment,” Simone says proudly. “It feels like recognition for the care and attention I put into every design.”

For furnishing the Bodegraven project, Simone found much of her inspiration at TICA Projects. The showroom is not just a place for her to make purchases, but primarily an environment where new ideas emerge. “I walk around with a concept in my head, and through combining and looking, a complete picture naturally forms. That moment when everything falls into place is the most beautiful for me,” she explains.
According to Simone, the collaboration with TICA plays a major role in her creative process. “The great thing about TICA is that you can purchase items individually,” she says. You don’t have to order in large quantities, which allows her to work much more flexibly. “And because you have everything under one roof here, from furniture to accessories, I can create exactly the right atmosphere for each project.”
“I would definitely recommend TICA Projects to other interior professionals,” Simone says. The quality, range, and atmosphere inspire her time and time again. Thanks to TICA’s versatility, she can keep surprising her clients and make every interior perfect down to the last detail.
For the future, she hopes to realize many more special projects with De Kamer van 5. “The most beautiful thing remains making people truly happy with the end result: an interior that completely suits them.”
