Bonlifestyle: color, coziness and a green heart

BonLifestyle stands for cheerfulness, creativity and candlelight with character. The brand started from a lack of color in the home and grew into a collection of handmade candle stands, stylish candles and sparkling LED variants. Recently you can also find BonLifestyle at TICA Ede. We spoke to the founders, Hetty and Maaike, about their inspiration, their first year at TICA and tips for other exhibitors.

From idea to brand

“We were missing color and coziness at home. That’s how we started making candle stands,” Hetty and Maaike tell us. Soon followed the step to candles that matched perfectly. After much experimentation – sometimes right, sometimes wrong – the products were created which now form the basis of BonLifestyle. Later, LED candles were added.

That same curiosity and energy can still be seen in the collections. Hetty and Maaike are critical of design and choose only the most beautiful combinations of colors and sets. “We follow trends closely and keep innovating. That way we make sure our collections are always fresh and surprising.” They find inspiration everywhere: on the street, online, on vacation…. but often just at rest. “That’s when the best ideas come.”

Creativity with a green heart

Craftsmanship, creativity and sustainability go hand in hand at BonLifestyle. The products are made with passion, often by hand, and always with an eye for detail. “We like to play with color and shape, but pay just as much attention to materials. We choose quality that lasts and work with parties who are consciously working. This results in a collection that is beautiful, original and has a green heart.

From the market to TICA Ede

After starting in 2023, BonLifestyle sold mostly B2C, including through markets. The switch to TICA was a logical step. “We were already customers of TICA ourselves and when Ede opened, we were curious. We saw that there were no candles in Ede yet and that felt like an opportunity. We are now present at all four branches.”

What BonLifestyle notices is that customers in Ede are just a little more daring. They clearly see this in the products that are sold the most in Ede. “We notice that especially our LED candles with color and glitter are popular here. That makes it extra fun and surprising for us to sell in Ede.”

Success and tips

Since the start in Ede, BonLifestyle has made great strides. Sales of LED candles are going very well and with promotions such as goodie bags, the brand manages to attract extra attention. “Our cheerful colors and cozy lights make us stand out.”

Hetty and Maaike’s advice for other brands who hesitate? “Just do it. The ladies in Ede are super helpful, the branch is conveniently located and central.”
