“For me, ‘Typical TICA’ is the speed at which we shift gears; we never stand still and we do it together as a team.”

How Have You Experienced your First Months at TICA?

The first months at TICA have been incredibly inspiring. What immediately struck me was the entrepreneurial mindset of the team and exhibitors. There’s a culture here where everyone sees and seizes opportunities, which perfectly aligns with my own ambition to further professionalize the sales team. The dynamic environment and innovative offerings also make TICA a place where creativity and sharp insight go hand in hand.

Do You Already Have a Favorite Project that You're Proud of?

Yes, definitely! The opening of TICA Ede and the Pop-up Store in Belgian Trademart (where we also recently opened TICA Brussels) are wonderful projects I’ve had the opportunity to work on. The Concept Store is also doing well. What makes it even more special is the excellent collaboration with the business managers; we work together seamlessly. This collaboration and quick decision-making within the team make these projects inspiring to work on.

What Opportunities Do You See for the Existing TICA Locations?

One of the main goals is ensuring that we remain relevant and inspiring for TICA members. This requires a keen eye for the needs of our TICA members and a proactive approach to address them.

And for the New Locations?

At TICA Ede and TICA Brussels, it’s important that we establish the TICA concept in a consistent and inspiring way. We want to maintain our unique retail formula, where we view exhibitors as partners. The challenge lies in executing this equally well everywhere while safeguarding TICA’s core values – inspiring, empathetic, and entrepreneurial. Creating an innovative retail image that continues to attract TICA members is crucial in this regard.

TICA Projects

The interior design industry has undergone significant transformation in recent years. The demand for customized furnishings – from project designers, developers, and interior stylists – has increased substantially. TICA Projects, located on the upper floor in Aalsmeer, addresses this need. This department offers custom solutions for furnishing hotels, restaurants, offices, and other commercial projects.

How Does TICA Projects Continue to Respond to the Changing Demands in the Interior Design Industry?

By focusing on customization and unique, exclusive products. We notice that the demand for personalized interiors continues to grow, and we address this by creating fully customized interiors and supporting customers through every step of the furnishing process. This keeps us relevant and allows us to quickly respond to new trends and preferences in the market.

What is your Focus for the Coming Year?

On optimizing collaboration with our exhibitors. We want to help them present their products in the best possible way and provide the right support, such as marketing and sales analyses. My goal as Sales Manager is to remain approachable for our exhibitors and ensure the threshold remains low. I strongly believe in personal contact and providing customized solutions. If we listen carefully to their needs and challenges, we can grow together. Their success is our success.

How Do You Want to further Professionalize the Sales Team?

By maintaining short lines of communication and ensuring we’re always approachable. This means continuously monitoring trends and hype products, as well as the wishes of TICA members. It’s not just about sales, but about offering a complete experience, from styling and stand presentation to after-purchase service. We’re also looking for new colleagues who share this vision and can strengthen our team.

What Would You like to Achieve for TICA in the Long Term?

That TICA continues to innovate and respond to market needs. I see many opportunities to attract new exhibitors and strengthen our collaboration with existing ones. In five years, I hope TICA will still be a leading player in the interior design industry, with a diverse and current offering that perfectly meets the needs of different target groups.

What is 'Typically TICA' for You?

The speed at which we operate. Just like in the retail sector, you need to be flexible here and able to respond quickly to changes. Whether it’s a new trend or an adjustment in the offering, we’re always in motion. That’s what I find special about TICA – we never stand still and we do it together with our entire team.
