Curious about what your stand will look like in the new TICA Aalsmeer? We have a mock-up stand in our current building to give you an early impression. You can find it between the pink and yellow halls, behind the Colmore stand.

From October 19 to November 13, project manager Peter Lakerveld will be there to answer your questions and share ideas. You can meet him on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, and on Thursdays from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

October 2026 Update

Owners: what can you expect now?

  • Personal contact
We have started the tours and personal consultations. You will receive all information specifically relevant to your stand from your account manager.
  • Your agreement moves with you
Your relationship with TICA continues as usual. You will move to the new location with your current agreement.
  • We will discuss your situation personally
What the relocation means for your stand, number of m², and conditions will be discussed one-on-one. The rates you may see on quotes are general target rates and are not automatically the agreements that apply to you.
  • Opening hours remain unchanged
There is a rumor that the building or the dispatch area will soon open at 7:00 AM. That is incorrect.
  • New stand design
Every exhibitor will receive a modular timber-frame stand, including walls, fascia boards, canopies, and lighting. You can place your own displays and materials within the stand. Do you have extra requirements? We would be happy to discuss these, and additional options can be arranged through the stand builder designated by TICA. If this solution does not suit your situation, we would be happy to consult with you about it.

Investment

  • €250 per m² (one-time buyout, depreciation over 3 years)
  • or €9 per m² per month for 36 months

Are you working with your own design that has been approved in writing by the TICA management? Then an infrastructure contribution of €150 per m² applies.

Update August 2026

Successful tour

The first four tours of the new building have now taken place! During these visits, exhibitors got a first impression of the new premises from the mezzanine. We also provided more insight into the expected walking route, the building plans, and the preliminary floor plan.

In the coming period, we will be speaking with every exhibitor personally to look for a suitable location in the new building together.

In addition, all stand owners have received further information via email regarding the next steps towards the relocation. This communication also provided extra clarity on various questions and signals currently circulating. Naturally, we will continue to provide active updates on further developments throughout the process.

Relocation officially confirmed

As we previously shared informally, it is now official: TICA Aalsmeer will move to a new location at the end of Q1 2027. You were informed about this by email in June.

We are only informing you officially now because we wanted to wait for final confirmation from the developer that the building will be delivered on time. We have since received that confirmation.

June 2026 update

Why we are investing in TICA Aalsmeer

After more than 20 years, the current building is in need of renewal. The appearance, facilities, and technical installations no longer align with the shopping experience that members and exhibitors expect today. TICA, but especially your brand, deserves a better home base.

With this move, we are investing in a future-proof location that better aligns with our shared ambitions. An environment where members enjoy coming, stay longer, and discover more. A stronger customer experience leads to more visits, higher conversion rates, and ultimately more sales opportunities for exhibitors. In this way, we are investing in a location that will enable more visits, higher conversion, and more sales opportunities for exhibitors in the long term.

June 2026 update

Designed with international retail experts

Behind the scenes, a special transition team has been working for over a year on the preparations and plans for the move. The planning is currently realistic and achievable.

In addition, we have developed an ambitious plan to make TICA even more attractive for members and exhibitors. To this end, we are collaborating with an international retail consultancy firm with experience at companies such as Galeries Lafayette, Selfridges, and Primark. They advise us on the layout, routing, and customer flows, so that the new TICA optimally contributes to brand visibility, a pleasant shopping experience, and better commercial results.

June 2026 update

What does this mean for your brand?

The new TICA Aalsmeer offers your brand:

  • A stronger presentation of your brand in a contemporary environment
  • More space to showcase your collection to its full potential
  • More experience for members, resulting in more visits and turnover opportunities
  • Comfortable and modern facilities in a sustainable building
  • An easily accessible location directly on the N201

June 2026 update

Construction update: logistics area

The wall between the shop and the logistics area has now been installed. Four docks are being created in the logistics zone: three for loading and unloading and one specifically for the recycling center. Additionally, just like in the current situation, there will be an overhead door next to the dock doors.

The most important facilities will be set up in the shipping area, just as you know them now. These include:

  • a controlled entrance and exit
  • camera surveillance
  • a coffee and tea point
  • a labeling area
  • a returns area
  • sanitary facilities

The total logistics area is approximately 2,000 m². This is about one-third of the current surface area. The available stacking height of 3.50 meters will also be significantly lower than in the current warehouse. This height is comparable to the space we currently use directly behind the dock doors.

This requires a more efficient layout and working method within logistics. Specifically, for you as an exhibitor, this means that TICA will only be able to offer very limited storage space to exhibitors.

Construction update: facade installed

In this photo, you can see the finishing of the facade at the entrance and exit.

June 2026 update

Construction update: escalator installed

Work is currently underway on the escalator in the building, which will soon take members directly to the upper floor. No longer just the stairs, but soon also nice and quick and easy with the escalator.

June 2026 update

Construction update: sprinkler system

Safety first: the sprinkler pump is being installed!

June 2026 update

Construction update: floor poured

Half of the ground floor has now been poured and finished. The parking deck has also been poured. Work is now in full swing on the office fit-out.

Update May 2026

Construction update: underfloor heating

Construction is still running according to plan. The steel for the ramp to the parking deck has been installed; a concrete layer with ramp heating will be added on top. In the hall, the third section (out of eight) is currently being prepared. In the office space, the finishing work (installing the walls) has started.

Update April 2026

Construction update: parking deck

The structural work on the parking deck is largely complete. The floor in the checkout area has been poured and leveled, and the floor in the office section is also finished. Work is now continuing on the floor in the hall. There are still a few things that need to be connected.

Update April 2026

Construction update: the roof is on!

The roof is now on and work has begun on preparing the floor. In the checkout area, the reinforcement and underfloor heating are mostly in place. In the hall, the subfloor is being leveled in preparation for laying the floor. The structure for the ramp to the parking deck is also clearly visible.

Update April 2026

Construction update: steel construction

The final part of the steel construction is now being completed. The installation of the roof panels is in full swing; a job for the ‘no fear’ construction workers. The first transparent light-transmitting panels have also been placed in the side wall. The insulation is being applied to the roof. The red pipes are part of the sprinkler system.

Update March 2026

Construction update: construction has started

The new building is coming along nicely: a large part of the roof cladding is already on, and the steelwork for the office/checkout area is up. The first row of surrounding walls has also been installed as much as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 - Relocation and planning

When is the exact moving date and how long will TICA be closed?

The current planning is the end of Q1 2027. TICA will not close. The move will be scheduled per exhibitor in phases. Your phase is leading and absolute for your moving moment. The planning is coordinated by TICA. You will receive your phase assignment in a timely manner.

The final floor plan with stand numbers will be published on October 1, 2026.

Yes, you are responsible for your own move. You will receive a checklist with everything that needs to be arranged. Extra help with people and resources can be requested at a later date.

No, TICA will handle the dismantling of the current stands. We are doing this to ensure the speed of the process.

This is linked to your phase assignment. As soon as your move-in date at the new location is known, the following applies: from six weeks prior, you may only run sales at the current location. From February 1st, a mandatory super sale starts for all exhibitors. More details will follow in the phase plan.

Which exhibitors are moving to the new premises?

All current exhibitors are very welcome in the new premises, under the current conditions. The choice to move with us is, of course, yours. It is good to know: TICA will stop at the current location because the lease has ended. From the opening onwards, the new building will be the one and only TICA Aalsmeer. In the new building, you will receive a modern stand, including electricity, stand construction, and lighting. We ask for a stand construction contribution for this. A healthy and profitable business case is our starting point. That is why we discuss what the relocation means for your stand with every exhibitor personally. This way, we reach agreements together that work, both now and in the years to come.

Do you have a stand up to 150 m² that is not at the end of an aisle? Then you will receive a modular wooden stand with walls 350 cm high, friezes, awnings, and lighting. Is your stand larger than 150 m²? Then you can submit a request to build your own stand. Together, we ensure a new location that is a real upgrade in experience for our members. The walls are 350 cm high. In the current building in Aalsmeer, there is a mock-up stand located between the pink and yellow halls behind the Colmore stand. From October 19 to November 13, Project Manager Peter Lakerveld will be there to answer your questions and brainstorm with you. You can find him on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, and on Thursdays from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

Most stands will retain similar dimensions. The new building has better facilities: more electricity, better lighting, and modern infrastructure. There will be new technical regulations with mandatory minimum stand construction standards. You will receive the technical specifications for your stand and the exhibitor guidelines that stands must meet on October 1, 2026.

We strive to give everyone a comparable or better position. You will receive the final floor plan with your new stand number on October 1, 2026.

Every member begins their purchasing journey on the upper floor. After the reception, they go directly upstairs via the stairs or escalator. The route then continues across the ground floor and ends at the checkouts. We encourage members to walk the full route. This way, they also discover brands and products they weren’t looking for and are surprised time and again by new collections. This means more visibility for every stand, on both floors. For this route, we were advised by the London-based retail agency Cardy Papa.

Yes. There will be exhibitor guidelines and a construction guide with clear instructions, including aisle widths and stand heights. You will receive these at the same time as the floor plan so there are no surprises.

Yes. The guidelines contain concrete instructions, focusing especially on appearance and experience. You will receive the full document well before the construction phase.

That is possible. Before you start working with them, we must have discussed and confirmed the options for this together. Your stand builder must submit technical drawings to TICA.

If you have received official approval from the TICA management, you can use a written approved custom design instead of our stand construction; in that case, a fee of €150/m² applies instead of €250/m². This is a contribution to the shared infrastructure, connection, and retail-compliant finishing of the space—which we provide regardless of who builds the stand.

We like to start fresh in the new location. Taking old furniture is possible, but only after aesthetic approval. Please read the exhibitor guidelines carefully and wait for approval before bringing racks or furniture.

Good to hear. Please contact your sales coordinator; we would be happy to discuss the possibilities for premium locations with you.

Will anything change regarding my contract, rental price, or terms?

We strive to keep conditions the same. There is a zone system in the new building that may influence the stand rent.

No, but TICA will request a contribution of €250 per m² as a contribution towards the costs of the basic facilities provided by TICA, such as stand construction walls, canopies, and lighting.

The contractual terms remain unchanged. Your agreements continue via the current contract. We will personally discuss what the new location specifically means for your stand, m², and conditions. The rental price and sales codes mentioned in some quotes are the regular rates according to the new price list, not necessarily your new rate.

Is there special space for loading and unloading with trucks/vans?

Yes, there is a spacious covered loading and unloading zone. Exhibitors will be assigned by zone and will receive designated setup and move-in days with corresponding time slots. This will be communicated in advance; no discussions afterwards.

According to our calculations, there is sufficient parking for our TICA members. Should more be needed in the future, we can further expand the number of spaces. This way, members can always easily find a spot and focus on what they come for: purchasing from you.

The parking deck of the new TICA Aalsmeer is suitable for vehicles up to 2,500 kg, with a maximum axle load of 1,000 kg. If you are unsure whether your vehicle falls within these limits, you can find the weight on the vehicle registration certificate. Should you have any questions, please contact your fixed sales contact person.

Parking for exhibitors will be communicated further. There are larger parking spaces near the loading zone, including spots for trucks. More details will follow once the final parking allocation is known.

No, we are transitioning 1-to-1 to the new location. We are, of course, looking carefully at the future and will keep you informed of any developments.

Permanent storage is available on a limited basis. Daily storage is possible. Exhibitors using our exhibitor service can purchase limited storage space. Contact us for the possibilities.

Yes. The new building has fewer loading docks available. We are testing how this works in practice beforehand and will inform you as soon as we know more. Expect to work with time windows to prevent queues.

No. The logistical opening hours remain unchanged: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

This rumor is incorrect. You will also be able to restock your stand outside of those times. We are currently working out the agreements regarding the restocking of stands, with the goal of ensuring you can get your stand in order easily and on time. As soon as everything is finalized, you will hear exactly how it works.

Are there better facilities in the new building (coffee, Wi-Fi, lounge, toilets)?

Yes. The new building features an inspiring restaurant, super-fast Wi-Fi, and a spacious lounge. The sanitary facilities match the new look and location. Additionally, the climate in the building is maintained between 19 and 22 degrees in both summer and winter.

Yes, the new building has the highest BREEAM certification; the international standard for sustainability and energy efficiency.

Yes, the building is fully wheelchair-friendly with wider aisles, adapted toilets, and parking spaces.

We provide basic security at the most important locations. In addition, TICA has ideas on how we can better protect your items and increase your turnover via smart technology. We will be happy to tell you more about this in the near future.

Before the opening of the new building, all products must be published on TICA’s webshop. Ensure this is in order before the opening date.

How do I communicate this to my own customers?

We are creating a ready-to-use newsletter and flyer specifically for you, which you can forward directly to your own customers. Available from mid-October.

Yes, more information on this will follow later.

Yes, a manned information point will be present on-site at fixed times of the day. First-line questions will be answered there immediately.

The current contact persons for stand construction, operations, sales, and pass applications remain unchanged. You will receive a full contact overview in a timely manner.

Will there be a demo stand in the current location?

Yes, a demo stand will be placed in the current location showing the standard stand construction, so you know what to expect.

Certainly. The catering facilities will be set up before the stand construction begins.

No. During the construction phase, the location is only accessible to those aged 18 and over. Safety shoes are mandatory.

Why is TICA investing in new premises?

With the new premises, TICA is investing in the years to come. We are building a store where members will still love to come and shop 15 years from now, and you as an exhibitor benefit from that. For the layout, routing, and customer flows, we are working with an international retail agency with experience at Galeries Lafayette, Selfridges, and Primark, among others. In this way, we are building a strong concept, with more buyers and more turnover opportunities.
